OCT tablet coating measurement

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) allows to measure film thickness of tablets in the µm range. Using the patented OSeeT system from Phyllon allows to measure film thickness in a pan coater in real time. Through a sapphire window the beam of a 830 nm laser is coupled into the coater. Using a high rep rate of 100 kHz single tablets moving through the beam are measured. In this way the average film thickness and the homogeneity of the coating process are measured in-line.
