LIBS-OES Spectrometers
Compared with other methods of elemental analysis by optical emission spectroscopy (OES) like ICP-OES or Spark-OES LIBS has some advantages. There is no need of sample preparation and already small amount of sample is sufficient to measure elemental composition qualitatively and quantitatively.
In the LIBS process a laser creates a local plasma and the plasma emission is analyzed by a spectrometer. LIBS is frequently used to study organic material, as also elements lighter than silicon can measured down to H, He, Li. This is not possible with x-ray excitation like XRF for example.
TSI offers versatile desktop systems with many options as well as small battery powered handheld LIBS analyzers for fast measurements on site.
